About Me

Hello!

My name is Cassie, and I am the designer and silversmith behind Rosie Plum! I live and grew up in the Essex countryside.

I have always had a keen interest in anything arty and spent most of my time in school drawing and doodling.

My career didn't take me in that direction after school, and instead I pursued my other love- horses!

I worked as a qualified equine veterinary nurse for 20 years before then working in sales for 2 years.

In this time, it was speckled with fawning over and making jewellery. Anything sparkly, glitzy and shimmery caught my attention and I could never walk past a jewellery or accessory shop without wandering in! (I still can’t!)

I started making my own jewellery with stringing beads then moving to reworking jewellery that had broken, or I had brought from a charity shop, taking it apart and making into new designs. But I became dishearten due to lack of my skill set to finish a piece.

Life of course takes over as it does, but in 2021 I asked my boyfriend for a voucher to a spinner ring class at local silversmith I found online.

This then opened up the doors and I stayed on and completed several evening courses, some extra day courses and falling back in love with making the jewellery that I love, and I can wear.

There has been patches of stopping and starting with life again getting in the way again, but I now have my own bench at home with my tool collection slowly (well, actually- quickly) growing!

Rosie Plum is my nickname that my dad called me when I was little :)
